Question: What to do about the SRS Dashboard light?

Usually if you have recently replaced the battery or something similar it triggers the SRS light to come on. If you know anyone with one of those "computer diagnosis machines" that plugs into your car to tell you what problems you are having, they can just simply clear that alert for you. That is usually the first thing to try because if there really is nothing wrong with a sensor then the light won't come back on. The same thing can be done to test the validity of a Check Engine Light as well.

I had the same issue. I went to the dealership and they replaced the entire seat belt mechanism which is covered under warranty up to 100+K miles.
